By Rebecca Yarros
After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty.
Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust.
Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves―her dragons, her family, her home, and him.
Even if it means keeping a secret so big, it could destroy everything.
They need an army. They need power. They need magic. And they need the one thing only Violet can find―the truth.
But a storm is coming...and not everyone can survive its wrath.
It takes awhile in the book before the spice really comes in. But once it does, it's explosive. Xaden and Violet don't hold back! But then again, when do they ever?
I would to start by giving a bit of advice. You should make sure you re-read the first 2 books first! I did not and thought I remembered most of it until I started really getting into the book and realized I didn't remember as much as I thought I did. That is no fault of the author, but just to have the best reading experience I would strongly suggest going in prepared.
The book was as good as I expected it to be. Plenty of action, meeting new characters and new worlds, so many funny scenes but just as much nail biting problems and the spice is absolutely next level! My only problem with the book what I would have preferred a different cliffhanger. It def left me shocked but a few more pages would have been good in my opinion.
